Walking by the waterfall
Shortly after the seigniory was founded in 1637, Robert Giffard oversaw the construction of a mill near a high waterfall on the Beauport River. Various mills in the area were used for artisanal and industrial production, whether for grinding wheat, making nails or extracting linseed oil.
