The Brasserie de Beauport brewery was founded in 1895 and enjoyed great success with its various beers, which supposedly owed their quality to the limestone-rich water of the Beauport River. The brewery supplied more than 25,000 barrels a year, which were distributed throughout the province of Quebec. However, the company went bankrupt in 1911 due to stiff competition.
