French Catholic schools fought to defend the language against Anglicization, and the Marist Brothers made it their duty to promote its rigid teaching. Brother Jean-Ferdinand, Vice-Principal at the school in 1933, published several works on the subject, including “Refrancisons-nous” in 1951.
