On June 16, 1995, a large crowd gathered in Place d’Youville to watch a giant screen set up near the Le Capitole theatre. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) would be announcing its choice of host city for the 2002 Winter Games. While awaiting the results, a festive atmosphere reigned among the Québec 2002 supporters in attendance.
