An early view of Montmorency Falls
This engraving of Montmorency Falls shows people enjoying a picnic. Montmorency Falls is one of Québec City’s oldest tourist attractions. As this image illustrates, tourism was essentially just for the upper classes at the time. This depiction was taken from the souvenir newspaper The Standard, Tercentenary Souvenir Number, published for Québec City’s 300th anniversary in 1908.
