In the 1960s, Québec City was modernizing in leaps and bounds. While some of its oldest districts were being demolished to make way for modern buildings, Place Royale was the focus of a major heritage restoration project! Starting in 1968, the buildings’ French character was restored through works that drew on historical and archaeological research.
