The blessing of the cars
In the 1920s, Abbot Georges Côté used his entrepreneurial skills to raise funds for the Saint-Louis-de-Courville parish. He established one of the first parish movie theatres in the province. But he also rallied 300 motorists every spring to have their cars blessed. At the event, medals were sold bearing the effigy of Saint Christopher, patron saint of travelers.
