Quebec’s first zoo
Holt Renfrew Zoo was a great success during its lifetime, from 1907 to 1932. Its popularity was due to several factors, including its bucolic setting, its proximity to the Kent House hotel, its streetcar access, and above all, the diversity of the animals kept there, which included a large number of wild North American species.
