View of Québec City and the Hôtel-Dieu Hospital from Lyn’s Lane
Strolling along the banks of the Saint-Charles River is nothing new! In this painting by James Pattison Cockburn, walkers stroll along “Lyn’s Lane,” which is lined with hardwoods and abundant vegetation. Over the years, the Saint-Charles has played many roles, serving as both a thoroughfare and a timber yard.
