Le Baron Rouge opened in 1964 at the Les Galeries de la Canardière mall. In 1979, the famous steak house moved to 350 Sainte-Anne Boulevard in Beauport, into a large building of traditional Canadian architecture called La Nouvelle Bastogne. This meant it could accommodate hundreds of diners and substantially increase its sales. Recognizable by its large red roof, the building was demolished in 2004.
