A nail factory
The Moulin Stream, formerly known as Cabane-aux-Taupiers Stream, was an attractive waterway for small factories. Located close to the St. Lawrence River, the Moulin Stream had steep, sloping banks that were ideal for factories. Several companies thrived here, including François-Xavier Méthot’s nail factory, which produced nails for the entire region until it was demolished in 1896.
