Young Crusaders at the turn of the 1950s
The Eucharistic Crusade was a social movement that began in 1914 to strengthen children’s Catholic faith. They would attain three different spiritual levels—page, crusader and knight—according to their progress. This image shows young Crusaders, perhaps gathering to perform the regular religious-themed educational games and exercises.
