Clearing snow from Charlesbourg streets
Snowplows first appeared on the streets of Charlesbourg in the late 1920s. Before then, snow was levelled with rollers, and neighbours organized shoveling crews. The arrival of snow blowers facilitated traffic between towns. The route from the Lower Town to Loretteville, via Charlesbourg, was one of the first routes to be cleared.
