Under the Marist Brothers’ teaching, spiritual life was deeply embedded in the school curriculum. The congregation, founded in France in 1817, was dedicated to the catechism of the Blessed Virgin, following Jesus “in the way of Mary.” So, in addition to morning prayer and recitation of the rosary, the calendar makes room for celebrations dedicated to Mary, such as the Month of the Holy Rosary.
