Dr. Jean Grenier was the driving force behind Québec City’s bid for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Co-founder of the Sainte-Foy skating club, he was chef de mission at the 1988 Calgary Games and had actively advanced the reputation of speed skating. The Québec 2002 committee was formed in 1992, headed by Judge René Paquet.
