Carnavals player Steve Newell was warmly dressed during a match in May 1974. In the first few weeks of the season, the team had to play in cold weather. This caused attendance at the Stade Municipal de Québec to drop. Québec City’s climate was one of the reasons the Expos’ AA affiliate moved from Montréal to Memphis after the 1977 season.
