During the Summit of the Americas, local authorities implemented an impressive security system. In particular, they erected a vast security perimetre around the venue where the talks were being held and deployed police motorcades to escort the various leaders to the city centre. The daily lives of residents and workers in this part of Québec City were greatly disrupted for several days.
