During the Summit of the Americas, banners welcoming the leaders of the 34 invited countries were displayed on the Complexe G government building. They were written in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, all official languages in at least one of the countries negotiating the trade agreement. These signs were one way local authorities demonstrated their openness to welcoming such an important international event.
