Two bridges, two eras
The Québec Bridge and the Pierre-Laporte Bridge were both major technological achievements. The former is still the longest cantilever bridge in the world, while the latter is the suspension bridge with the longest main span in Canada. Comparing the two public works also shows how techniques had evolved in just 50 years.
