To mark the opening of the bridge, journalists and dignitaries were invited to walk across the new structure. While the project was ambitious in scope, it was all the more impressive given the local teams who worked on it. It was in fact mainly Quebec-based companies that designed the bridge and carried out the works. That was a first for a construction of this size!
