Pope John Paul II, in his popemobile, greeted the crowd in Place de l’Hôtel de Ville during his visit to Québec City. For the first time, the vehicle was equipped with an interior camera that broadcasted images to television. It was built by a Quebec enterprise specialized in the production of fire trucks!
