In honour of Pope John Paul II’s visit to Québec City in 1984, Notre-Dame-de-Québec Basilica featured a banner with the inscription “Célébrons Notre Foi” (let’s celebrate our faith). This event was the first of the pontiff’s visits in Canada. Québec City is the Catholic stronghold in the country.
