The Palais Central at the 1949 provincial exhibition
The Palais Central was inaugurated in 1917. It housed the racetrack until horse racing was abolished locally 2009. Demolished in 2012, the building was replaced by the Centre Vidéotron in 2015. In this 1949 photo, the Palais houses the provincial Ministry of Health. A mobile tuberculosis screening clinic is stationed out front.
