The Colisée de Québec arena was built in 1949 after the former Colisée built in 1930 burned down Here, it is surrounded by many rides and booths during the 1987 edition of Expo-Québec. Whereas the event had previously catered mainly to a rural clientele, in the 1970s and 1980s it took on a decidedly urban flavour. Animals and farm machinery gave way to a fairground atmosphere!
