Québec City dignitaries kicked off the Acadian tintamarre in 2008. Their speech recalled the historical events that evicted the Acadians from their lands in the Maritimes and led them to settle in Québec City. Historically, there has been great solidarity between Acadians and Indigenous peoples. The Grand Chief of the Huron-Wendat Nation, Max Gros-Louis reminded the audience of this.
