Black-and-white photograph of Maurice Bastien Jr., known as Quézo Saenhes (meaning “the big tree”). He co-founded Bastien Brothers with his brother Cyrille. Born in Jeune-Lorette on August 17, 1855, he became Grand Chief of the Huron-Wendat Nation in 1909, a position he held until 1916. He died in Village-Huron on April 17, 1932.
