Workers on the Québec Bridge construction site
A monumental exploit of the early 20th century, the Québec Bridge was not only a feat of civil engineering but also of many skilled workers. This 1902 photograph shows workers during the construction of a bridge pillar. Five years later, the southern structure would collapse, a catastrophe that claimed the lives of 76 men.
