At the age of 18, Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, embarked on a tour of Canada and the United States at the request of Queen Victoria. He set sail from Great Britain, arriving in Québec City in summer 1860. His visit to Québec City was marked by a reception at the Parliament of the Province of Canada.
