This coloured engraving shows Place Royale in the heart of Québec City, devastated by British bombardment during the Conquest. The religious building in the centre is the church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Victoire, also known as Notre-Dame-des-Victoires. We owe this engraving to the British naval officer Richard Short.
