Model of Champlain’s Habitation de Québec settlement
This model shows Champlain’s settlement, built between 1608 and 1609 at the foot of Cape Diamant. Originally, the wooden building served as a fur trading post and food storage area. It was rebuilt in stone in 1624. The remains of this settlement were found in the late 1970s during the archaeological digs under the Place-Royale.
