General Wolfe’s death on the battlefield
The Battle of the Plains of Abraham was short-lived for James Wolfe. Within the first few minutes of the fight, he was hit by three bullets. Here, we see his soldiers escorting him off the battlefield. He died shortly thereafter. On learning of the defeat of the French troops, he is alleged to have said, “Now, God be praised, I will die in peace.”
