Bastien
1899-2008 Bastien Industries In 1878, Maurice Sébastien “Bastien” Agniolen, from the Huron-Wendat Nation, opened Maurice Bastien, the first large-scale manufacturer of snowshoes, toboggans and moccasins. More than 80% of families in the community worked there. His sons then founded Bastien Brothers in 1920. The family business continued to prosper and, in 1972, Maurice Bastien’s grandson launched Bastien Industries. Their products are now known internationally.
